Failing to comply with a traffic light or sign may result in penalty points being imposed on your licence or even disqualification.
In relation to traffic light prosecutions these will largely depend on camera evidence. As with a speed camera the prosecution must show that the camera attached to the traffic lights was correctly calibrated. It must be proven that the traffic lights themselves were also fully operational.
With this type of allegation, the prosecution will largely depend on eye witness accounts by police officers. If you are accused of this offence, we may be able to, through expert cross examination, show that those witnesses are unreliable and that their evidence is therefore weak.
